Our Story: How a CBD Nascent Iodine Toothpaste Began
The idea did not start in a lab. It started with a glass of water. The founder added drops of nascent iodine and drops of CBD into his water and he noticed the two balanced the other out in a useful way: the lift in energy from iodine was countered by the calming effect of CBD.
Research into both ingredients followed, and each turned out to have its own benefits for oral health and the body as a whole. The turning point was a review article, "Iodine and Iodine Deficiency: A Comprehensive Review of a Re-Emerging Issue" by Adrienne Hatch-McChesney and Harris R. Lieberman, which notes that iodine intake from table salt is on the downtrend.
That raised a question: What if we put iodine in toothpaste to absorb through the gums and mouth? What if people could become more iodine efficient through a hygiene habit they are already doing twice a day? Putting iodine in toothpaste, balanced with CBD, became the answer, and WAVES was born.
